KDE Partition Manager crashes at startup

For a while KDE Partition Manager has been crashing.

I authenticate:

It says something about scanning for a second or so and then it crashes abruptly.

Anybody experiencing the same thing?

I’m on Aurora and just opened KDE Partition Manager to check. No issues loading, and I’m able to see my internal drive and it’s partitions without any issues. I also see a Zram “device”. I should note that I’m running a dual boot system, so even with that it appears to be OK on my end.

Just yesterday I had the same, when I thought I had to format an USB stick.
With the USB stick connected KDE Partition Manager crashed everytime - like you describe it.
The message popping up was something like “scanning /dev/sdb …” and then the crash happened.

Only when I disconnected the stick, KDE PM started successfully.

I’m not sure if the filesystem matters. The stick I connected was FAT32 formatted. Is it the same for you?

It’s the same for me. Exact the same symptoms.

Ok, tried again, but with a formatted USB plugged in, and got the error this time.

Seems to be related to USB mounted partitions from the sound of all our experiences.

Same here, USB stick FAT32 formatted crashes, USB disc encrypted ext4 works properly.

Had the same problem today. Unformatted USB thumb drive that I was trying to format gave me a segfault. Rolled back to last weeks stable 0430 image and same problem, so it has been there awhile. It doesn’t crash if I plug in a formatted drive.

❯ partitionmanager
unknown file system type “” on “/dev/sdc”
KCrash: Application ‘partitionmanager’ crashing… crashRecursionCounter = 2
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

Yep, it crashes here too, on two different machines.
