Gnome-shell freeze when high cpu or ram usage

Hi
I have a problem on bluefin, when on high cpu or ram usage the entire desktop frezze and i must reboot to fix it (ctrl+alt+f3 not working)

What strange is that happen even with extensions disabled. And I’m already had this problem on my previous laptop and with other distro that use gnome (i didn’t try on KDE) but i don’t see much people having this problem online

So it’s just me or other people have this problem ? (and hopefully a fix)

Hi,
nope for me, it’s all good no strange freeze at all.
Maybe only the cursor that sometimes have little freeze bug and don’t follow my pen (I got 2-1 laptop and I’m on bluefin latest) but I don’t usually take more than 6gb of my ram ( i have 16gb tot) so dunno if u meant this for high ram/cpu usage…

Yeah, that only happen on high usage (at least 90% ram/cpu)
And I mean is ok if my app freeze or the system is slower, but a big full freeze is really strange and annoying (it can happen multiple time a day when on heavy load)

Add in more swap seem to “fix” the problem
it 8gb by default, I set it to 24gb (16gb should work too, but just to be extra safe)

That still strange to have a big freeze when low on ram (instead of the apps itself freezing or crashing)
