I was curious about the ntsync and as far as I can tell, the components are there in Bazzite 43.
What I can see:
-
module is loaded
-
$ lsmod | grep ntsync
ntsync 20480 0
-
WSYNC = NONE on MangoHud
-
$ cat ~/.config/MangoHud/MangoHud.conf
winesync
-
Using Proton-GE-Latest (at least newer than GE-Proton10-34)
-
Kernel
-
Linux bazzite-learn 6.17.7-ba29.fc43.x86_64 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Wed Mar 25 07:35:02 UTC 2026 x86_64 GNU/Linux
I wonder what I missed. Tips are appreciated.
Hey there,
I would also check what the Steam console log says about it, ~/.steam/steam/logs/console-linux.txt. Look for wineserver: message.
here is example what I see:
[2026-05-08 14:34:52] ProtonFixes[46967] INFO: Running protonfixes on "GE-Proton10-34", build at 2026-03-23 03:55:11+00:00.

[2026-05-08 14:34:52] ProtonFixes[46967] INFO: Running checks

[2026-05-08 14:34:53] wineserver: NTSync up and running!
yet I do not have it shown in MangoHud and I have winesync in MangoHud.conf.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Ah! I see the same lines in my Steam log. Thanks! I supposed it has already “maxed out”, was hoping for a little more fps lol.
Appreciate you guiding me; otherwise I would be wasting time googling and hallucinating w/ Gemini to no end.
