Update failed and now having issues booting

While using topgrade, I got the following error while progress was running:

This was the full terminal output after topgrade:

So thinking that clearing the cached packaged might help I used: rpm-ostree cleanup -m and then retried running topgrade.

This caused the system to get stuck on updating metadata for fedora at 95% with 0sec remaining, I fear the system is unstable so I refuse to shutdown at this point, can anyone help?

This is an errant distrobox that’s failing (your fedora one), not your system.

But after this failed update, I needed to roll back to a previous update, else the system just doesn’t boot at all, is it something I can fix on my side? Or should I be waiting for a fix?

That error is unrelated to the nvidia issue that was reported earlier today, can you try running an upgrade again?

Might have been related though, using NVidia GPU myself.

ujust update

returned a failure based on timestamp difference as well as using

rpm-ostree update

However, appending --allow-downgrade to rpm-ostree update succeeded in installation of a previous version and now the PC boots fine.

Thank you so much for the help
