Text in apps not loading

Hello,

New to the forum and relatively new to Universal Blue. I didn’t see an existing post with this issue. I have several apps where the text in the app does not load, instead it’s just little rectangles indicating where the text should be. Screenshots attached. So far, I’ve seen this issue in GNOME Boxes, Iotas, and Mission Center. Have restarted, updated, and tried uninstalling and reinstalling the apps.

Hardware is an NVIDIA laptop
System76 Oryx Pro (oryp7)
Intel i7-10870H
NVIDIA RTX 3070 Max-Q
32 GB RAM
500 GB NVME

flatpak fonts are being screwy.

but plyply’s solution worked for me

flatpak list --app --columns=application,runtime|grep org.gnome.Platform|awk -F '\t' '{print "flatpak run --command=fc-cache " $1 " -f -v"}'|xargs -I % echo "%"|sh
