I have separate home dir on separate partition and would like to switch from Gnome to Plasma. Will separate home help me to keep my settings or data, or should I clean install bazzite with KDE desktop?
Switching desktops is not recommended because kde and gnome share a lot of grk/qt configs which are on your home directory so it will cause a mess

But, honestly, you can still try to create a different user (so, a different home) and still rebase to Plasma. As far as it is not officially supported, it might work.
Still backup your home, even if it’s not touched.
