Steam autostart in recent update

I noticed recently that, after logging in, steam launches in the background. Is this feature possible to turn off?

Yes, you can turn it off in Bazzite KDE Plasma by going to System Settings, scroll the left pane down to the bottom, click on the Autostart category, and then remove the Steam entry from the list of autostart apps.

Well. The thing is, that in autostart apps, there is no steam entry, so it has to be launched in some other way

Ok, for what I can see. The Steam autostart is on system level, so I cannot turn it off in KDE settings. I installed ignition, and then it gives me option to override, but is it safe?

Overriding it with Ignition won’t help, it only creates a copy in ~/.config/autostart and autostarts from there, the system-wide entry remains intact. It is safe, but is not what you are looking for.

Your Steam autolaunch file is probably at system-wide config directory, /etc/xdg/autostart. It is safe to remove Steam entry there, it has nothing to do with the entry that launches it typically; if unsure, rename it to contain ~ at the end, this will mask it without actually removing. If it combusts and explodes, rename the file back to what it was.

That’s odd that it isn’t in the autostart apps. It’s always been there for me.
