Hi, I recently got a hold of a Dell Precision 5530 laptop that has Nvidia Quadro P1000 GPU and Intel(R) UHD Graphics 630 and I wanted to install Bluefin DX on it, but according to the website the Nvidia ISO only supports newer GPUs like GTX. Should I just go with the intel|amd ISO, or is there an option for older Nvidia GPUs?
You can use the intel/amd ISO. There still are images for the older propietary driver cards, just no installation ISO.
After install you can just rebase to the -nvidia image.
Thanks for the response @inffy I’ll rebase to -nvidia once the Intel ISO is set up.
Can you provide the specific command to rebase to nvidia?
I figured it out:
rpm-ostree rebase ostree-image-signed:docker://ghcr.io/ublue-os/bluefin-nvidia:stable
So there is no way that the nvidia ISO can have both closed and open packages with an option on which driver to use at boot time and which driver to use for the installation?
What would that really solve? You can install with the Intel/amd ISO and then rebase to any Nvidia image of you like.
At some point we are planning to have a single iso but at that point the legacy Nvidia drivers are long gone anyway.
