Recommendation on choosing between Bluefin GDX or Aurora

I am considering moving from Fedora 41 to Universal Blue Workstation options. I know Nvidia releases a CUDA repo for Fedora every two releases (they did 37, 39 and now 41), so I imagine Bluefin GDX will also follow this cycle. Likewise, I don’t mind personally because that’s what I do with Fedora as well, switch every two releases.

As far as DE is concerned: Personally I prefer KDE, but I understand Gnome is preferred for Bluefin for stability reasons, albeit since Fedora 42 KDE, is as supported as Gnome. Do you plan to offer options for Bluefin as well?

What options you mean?

Bluefin is gnome and aurora is the kde version.

There is work in progress to bring Aurora LTS (based on CentOS) to accompany Bluefin LTS for a KDE spin.

Is just that Aurora does not have an AI-workflows version with CUDA installed by default. Or so I think.

ah yes. this is currently missing but the its coming

aurora does have cuda support. If anything else is required / missing I do not know but you can use the gpu for compute out of the box.

You can always try them in a VM or external drive while you are still on Fedora WS 41. That’s what I did for a few months while I got comfortable enough to commit.

Why not try them both (aurora and bluefin)? I landed on bluefin-nvidia-dx:stable because I prefer GNOME and wanted something on par with WS but lag a little (weekly updates instead of daily).
