Protontricks doesn’t work with the latest steam client because of this issue: Invalid file magic number. The appinfo.vdf version might not be supported by the current version of Protontricks · Issue #304 · Matoking/protontricks · GitHub, how can I fix protontricks on bazzite?

You need to wait for an updated Protontricks to work with the new Steam beta or you can roll back to Steam stable for now.

I used yesterday the system update and the latest stable client was downloaded and the issue is present, that’s why I asked how can I fix the issue

You can use beta version of protontricks from Flathub beta repo

Protontricks now has a 1.12.0 version that fixes the issue. That version is on Flathub (but not flathub beta). You can use it after install like this:

# old command - will use system protontricks:
protontricks 244210 winecfg
# new command, will use flathub protontricks:
flatpak run com.github.Matoking.protontricks 244210 winecfg

Would be nice to get the system protontricks upgraded, though.
