Kernal 6.13

Hello all,

I stumbled onto Bazzite recently and so far has been a good journey well done developers. I have a request when will kernel 6.13 make into Bazzite?

Presumably after it makes it to Fedora. Fedora is upstream, and while I know Bazzite uses a customized kernel, from what I’ve seen following the links on the Bazzite github page, we are still a downstream of Fedora’s with regards to kernel.

And kernel version is just a major thing that I doubt the team would want to get ahead of Fedora in that regards.

There have been numerous kernel regressions and bugs faced by the fedora team, once those are resolved in a 6.13.x version, it will be shipped in fedora and eventually bazzite.

Yes I agree I will have to wait for this to hit mainstream Fedora. My guess is by the end of this month. Thank you for your response.

Thank you for your response and yes there are always package conflicts with any change.

Well kernel 6.13 after one long year has arrived now I have full fan control on my rdna4 graphics card. I do know that I can let firmware to do its job but in some cases my card did over heat for some reason.

Correction to my last post:
That would be rnda3 not 4 there is a big difference.

What app do you use to control the fans on GPU? I tried Lact and Corectrl. Cant do anything in Lact and adjusting the fan curve in Corectrl doesnt do anything either.

Just so you know I’m using a Desktop PC with discrete AMD graphics card. I installed lact using the terminal with this command ujust install lact. So if you are on a handheld this may not work at all. After install finishes do a reboot. When back up lauch lact and enter commnad you see on dislog box on the app. After command is entered do another reboot and you should be able to use.
