As of today, Kernel 7.0.9 is available on our stable branch, along with Valve’s VRAM patch set (Functional on both KDE & GNOME), Mesa 26.1, Bazaar 0.8.1, Nvidia-open 610, various Xbox controller fixes, and more!
Additionally, Bazzite-DX is now on our Fedora 44 base and once again building in lockstep with stable, and the Fedora 44 version of our deck images has hit testing!
We ask that you give the testing deck images a try only if you’re adventurous and willing to deal with breaking bugs. Lots of improvements to those images are still in the pipe and we will get them into stable as soon as possible.
In the near future, look for our newly rebuilt desktop updater and rebasing application, OpengamepadUI overlay for deck, and greatly improved support for handhelds like the Legion GO 2.
Thanks again for your collective patience with us while we work on these major changes. We look forward to sharing more with you soon!
PS: Kernel 7.0.11 will hit stable very soon with more patches.
I was hoping the rainbow Bazzite icon would be included as an option since the release happened during pride month. In any case, the updates sound solid, and my computer updated when I booted up this morning without me even noticing. Not sure if I’ll ever get used to updates being seamless.
With Bazzite 44.20260605, it looks like the Reboot option at the end of ujust update no longer requires sudo elevation (i.e., a password). Is that expected behavior?
Should we expect Plasma 6.7 along with kernel 7.0.11? I recently ran into an HDR bug that should be solved by the changes coming in the next version of Plasma.
Has 44 Bazzite-Deck-Stable been released yet? The Testing branch was not a good experience, it broke all sort of things and resulted in a non booting system for me, had to revert to a pinned image of 43 to get back into the GameUI.
Same here. I came across an issue when opening decky (I don’t update it frequently) and the screen went black with basic white text saying some component was not able to be loaded (message as cut off). After force shutdown, I couldn’t boot into the OS, screen kept flashing green every few seconds or so. I went back to v43, updated decky, tried again and still couldn’t boot into it. So rolled back entirely. (AMD deck gnome)
Yep, I have major issues as well, as soon as I rebase to 44 testing, I boot up to a black screen, I cant see or do anything, CTL+ALT+DEL does reboot the machine though, I just reboot back to my pinned Bazzite 43 and remove Bazzite-Deck Testing 44, I have tried a number of times, today aswell, I cant work it out, I also removed any layered packages by resting rpm-ostree, but no luck, my system is pretty straight forward, 7900X and 9070 XT.
Ok.
I installed Bazzite to my HTPC and did not pay attention that desktop and deck versions follow different release cycle.
I have only been following Github release notes so I was wondering why I am still at 43 version.
Thanks! Now I am less confused…
