Issue with twitch

Greetings all,

Does anyone else have issues with twitch using bluefin:stable?

Current issues I have experienced with Firefox:

  • cannot accept/reject cookies
  • cannot login
  • cannot redeem points
  • cannot see notifications

What I have tried so far and no improvement:

  • disable all addons
  • incognito mode
  • clear all cache/cookies
  • delete all addons
  • using other browsers - same issues as Firefox
  • using VPN

I went to deploy Bluefin on a separate PC and VM and start a new - I got the same issue with twitch

What helps:

  • copying over my existing FF profile to different distro (Arch/Mint)
  • starting with clean profile and logging in also works on different distro.

I noticed parts of this about week ago, was not able to redeem with channel points.

FF 133 twitch login error message:

Quickly tested loggin in, and that worked (don’t really use twitch so not much i can test).

I’m using Aurora-latest with Zen-Browser flatpak. Atleast logging in didn’t show any errors.

I just switched to Aurora on my second PC and still no dice. This is getting weirder by the minute for me.

No issues with twitch on firefox here.

Maybe far fetched, but do you use any kind of adblocker, via extensions or maybe DNS based one with too aggressive settings?

Yeah, I have browser addon. Disabling or removing it does not help. Other browsers I have tested on Bluefin, e.g., Zen, Florp, Brave, Firedragon, Edge, Chrome - all have the same issues and error message.

When you try to login with bogus credentials, it’s expected to get “This username does not exist” error on twitch and not the one I posted. Using my real credentials produce the same error :expressionless:

My third PC (Arch) is on the same network and copying my FF profile from Bluefin works fine there. Same when I test with Mint (VM).

Did you try to enable dns-over-https in firefox to see if it works when you use that? That way you can rule out if something blocks the request on dns level. It seems very odd that all browsers have the same problem, that should almost indicate some network level setting.

Anyhow, works fine for me… hope you will figure it out what causing this.

Thank you for the suggestion!

I used DoH Max protection with Cloudflare and NextDNS to no avail.

I found one similar topic for Vivaldi for Windows, last active 2 days ago, but not sure if it will be OK to put the link here. On their forum there is no solution either.

At the moment, I will be using the Arch PC to access twitch when I want to be more active there.

I found the issue - I had to reboot my router and now all works as expected on all PCs.

Not sure what was causing this odd behavior tho’, but I’m not going to dig any further.

Thank you everyone!
