Installer fails to see nvme ssd

Aurora 42 installer (on USB stick) fails to see the disk in the Dell latitude 5400. I thought it was a bad ssd (or a dying RTC battery).

I just replaced both batteries and installed a new gen 3 nvme #ssd (San disk)

The bios sees the disk as a non raid storage device.

When I boot with the installer, it sees no local disks.

What should I try next?

This album has images of the bios and installer screens.

Looks like a kernel/driver issue.

Please check dmesg and journalctl with the live environment.

If you have issues with Aurora please try kinoite. If the kinoite installation works you can always do a rebase to aurora.

Thank you for the tip on dmesg` because I noticed an error regarding RAID and a bit of homework suggested changing the BIOS to use the AHCI instead. Using AHCI did the trick.

IDK if something in the filesystem changed around 42 or 43 but it was just enough to not be able to treat the single nvme device as RAID. (I noticed the installer defaults to btfs and I think before it was EXT4 (maybe ZFS ?) I don’t have an opinion on filesystems.
Thanks for the Kinoite tip, BTW.
