how does one install an AppImage program on Bluefin?
For me 2x-clicking on an appimage download opens with Disc Image Writer. I don’t see any references to AppImage in the docs and the forum threads I’ve read so far just refer to it in passing as if it’s a ‘just works’ thing, like "install the appimage …"0
thanks! …and for future also-confused newbies, I would add this just runs the program in place, so to ‘install’ it move the file to ~/Applications or something.
You can install something like Gear Lever to manage your AppImages. It also handles the “installation” part and also updates if you like.
I recommend installing AppMan for managing appimages. It also integrates with topgrade so you update them automatically with the rest of your system. If you are not afraid to use terminal to install appimages then it really is a superb option
