Dualboot setup question

In case of Bazzite installation on a separate drive after Win 11 installation, will it still install ANY of its files on Windows drive? (a problem existing with some other linux OSs, e.g. Mint). In other words, do I need to physically disconnect Windows drive during installation, or can I safely proceed without doing so? (sorry, I’m a total linux newbie).

You shouldn’t have to physically disconnect it (or disable it in the BIOS).

That being said, on dual-boot systems I always do so just because I’ve been burned in the past by various distros not respecting my selections as to where the bootloader goes.

Thank you very much, I haven’t even thought that I can simply disable it in bios instead of going through the trouble of half-disassembling my tightly packed compact build! Will that be enough to completely prevent the installer from accessing it?

No prob! If the OS can’t see it because it’s disabled in the BIOS, practically speaking, it’s disconnected as far as the installer is concerned.

I NEVER use multiboot bootloaders anymore. It’s just really painful having a non-booting system with a GRUB prompt because of some stupid installer overwriting the bootloader.

Using the BIOS boot device selection is the way to go.
