I saw that in about a month Vulkan will be available on Linux for Mac, when will Bazzite be available on Apple Silicon?
Here’s a thread on this:
There are currently showstoppers preventing any Universal Blue image to work on ARM architecture, but we’d love to have testers when things get into place eventually.
As of my testing with Asahi Fedora on M1, I will unprofessionally guess we’re at least one year away from meaningfully putting Bazzite on Apple Silicon. Sure I could check my mails, use Libre Office, etc on Asahi Fedora, but there’s still lacking full 3D acceleration, as well as full USB C support (I can connect a dongle via USB C and then connect another C device to it, but directly putting my USB C drive does not do ANYTHING). Some driver quirks like these need some work before any moderately advanced PC user will get anything useful from that.
Just wondering its been a year, do we know how close we are to getting this to work on apple silicon? Because I do all my main stuff off of a mac but some stuff with bassite i rather than macos when testing it on some of my old macos intel computers, I would at least like some kind of beta version or pre-release to try on my sillicon mac.
