Why is Heroic not pre-installed on Bazzite?

… While Lutris is ?

Hello all, I am relatively new in the Linux space and in PC gaming in general. I plan to build a PC to be used as a console in the future, hence Bazzite

From my understanding, specifically for GOG games it seems that Heroic Games Launcher is the better solution compared to Lutris, since it can handle thing like achievements, cloud saves, the store itself etc.
GOG mindset is much more in line with the Linux philosophy in my opinion (DRM-free games), so I am wondering why Heroic is not included by default on the Bazzite images, for a better integration between the two ?

(I am not at all saying that Lutris is bad ! But being specifically interested in GOG games and without being able to test things myself, I find odd there is so few information on this subject on the internet.)

Thanks !

Minigalaxy: a full-featured GOG.com Linux client for you to install your favorite games - Regata OS Magazine

on the topic of gaming apps like heroic, and lutris, which I like that one, I noticed that minigalaxy app is not included either, is there some reason bazzite didn’t add it at least I don’t think its include it may be installable maybe if needed?

sharkwouter/minigalaxy: A simple GOG client for Linux

I noticed that one from that other gaming linux distro, these are all the linux distro’s that seem to be useable with it, I didnt try installing it on bazzite, most likely the flatpak flathub one would work for bazzite, because its atomic.

flatpak install flathub io.github.sharkwouter.Minigalaxy

Heroic is not preinstalled, but still available to install at first boot screen. Flooding the image with apps that someone maybe prefers rather than giving user a choice at first boot is a worse option in my opinion. Plus lutris installs game launchers like on windows, so maybe by some logic it’s easier for past windows users to feel at home (i think the heroic is better, but lutris has a broader scope so including it as a preinstalled tool makes more sense)

I understand but at the same time, Bazzite is tailored for gaming, so to me it makes more sense to include by default a more specialized but better (for this use case) tool. Steam + Heroic covers everything noteworthy in gaming.

Thanks for your answer
