Trouble backing up to seperate partition

I have 2 ssds, one is my boot drive and one for extra storage. I would like to backup my home folder to my second ssd. I used KDE Partition manager to create a partition for backups and mounted it at /var/mnt/Backups.

DejaDup says it does not have access to /var/mnt/Backups to use as a local backup location even though I have explicitly given it access in flatseal and using flatpak terminal commands. I have tried force closing it to try and get the new permission loaded in.

Is it possible to use DejaDup the way I am trying to?

Have you checked that either your user or group has read-write access to that directory?

The solution was to put /mnt/Backups as the storage location instead of /var/mnt/Backups
