Data partition on the same disk as an UBlue-based Linux

Hello,
I am considering switching to Bluefin DX on my laptop, though this question should apply to Aurora, Bazzite, etc. as well. I like having a separate encrypted data partition with my OS-independent files (music, documents, pictures, etc.). The Bluefin docs state that booting another OS from the same disk is not supported and recommend a full-disk installation in the installation runbook, however I’ve been unable to find any information about my specific case; thus the question, would having a seperate data partition on the same disk as Bluefin risk either damage to my files on that data partition or damage to my installation? What are some other options I might consider instead? For context because my laptop only has a single M.2 slot using two separate disks sadly isn’t an option.

Thank you for your help.

Did you ever get around to re partitioning your drive? I’m about 10 minutes from booting into a separate instance and doing some gparted…
