Thanks for everything you all do to bring this system to us!
And thank you for creating this Discourse group! I much prefer it to the firehose that is Discord
Yes @JohnAtl ! agree, such a great project!
I’m gonna start some beginner questions topics soon! lots of questions.
And yes Discourse is way better!
I just wanted to share a quick thank you. Bazzite is amazing! I have it on a gaming laptop, which is where I started, and now on my Steam Deck. Amazing experience and everything works.
There were some issues related to NVIDIA, but they have worked out over time. The ability to rollback was handy when the video card issue cropped up.
I did have trouble with the Gnome version on my laptop. The laptop is connected to two external displays and the HDMI display seemed to the issue. In any case, the KDE version works perfect.
Thanks again and have a great day!
I wanted to say thank you as well. Bazzite literally made my ROG Ally feel like a new console. It feels like this is the way it’s meant to be used. Games run better. There’s no stutter on any game. Quick resume is amazing.

Have been looking into daily driving Bluefin for a few months already, but had some personal stuff to sort out before being able to.
Coincidentally, the new ISO became available right around the time I was ready to do the switch.
The installation was successful and I have finished setting up most of my stuff (development and some gaming stuff).
Everything has been working just fine so far on a Thinkpad T14 Gen 1 AMD
Two things caught my attention when doing the install:
- There is not an option for the dx version in the ISO download anymore. Was that changed recently?
- I think one of my thumb drives is dying as I tried doing the install 3 different times using Ventoy and Fedora Media Writer and the ISO wouldn’t boot. Don’t think it’s an issue with the ISO itself, but thought it was worth mentioning.
I have been using Fedora Workstation for a little over 3 years and always had an itch to try Silverblue, but Bluefin additions won me over.
Other than that just wanted to say that I’m Really excited to join the community!
Bluefinshould last a long time as my daily driver! Huge thanks to everyone involved in the project!

I have a T14 G1 AMD myself! That’s where I first installed Aurora 2 weeks ago (then installed it on my PC within a week ).

The DX ISOs disappeared with version 42 about a week ago. There was a posting about it. They take up time and space and are not absolutely necessary. You can rebase on DX, like I did. In Terminal, launch ujust toggle-devmode
(I’m assuming the command is the same in Bluefin as in Aurora). It should rebase your system to the DX image. (Aurora has a nice GUI for that in the system configuration, but I’m not sure about Bluefin.)
You may have to run ujust dx-group
after rebooting to make sure your account has the right permissions for the developer experience.
Yeah also if we can make dx mode a 1 reboot operation instead of 2 it wouldn’t be so bad:
One of the reasons we removed them is we’ve been removing things off of the image for a while (devpod, etc) so they’re becoming less specific.
I just wanted to share my appreciation for all the people that have worked to make aurora/bazzite/bluefin what they are because it is amazing.
I appreciate the measured but opinionated decisions that have been made in regards to the available software. It has introduced me to new tools (brew, devcontainers) and made working with them painless out of the box. At this point I’m not sure I could ever go back without them.
All of this backed by such painless upgrades that this may very well be my last post for a while because I no longer feel the need to scour forums to know whats ahead and if there are any hiccups - and that is an amazing feeling.
