TDP adjustment via back right ROG ally button not popping up anymore

Hi,

I am running bazzite on an ally Z1 extreme.
A few weeks ago, beginning to mid August, after an update my TDP adjustment disappeared.
When i now press the back right button (behind the screen) nothing happens in desktop or gaming / steam big picture. It should bring up a window for TDP/RGB adjustment and some other controls. The left back button still brings up the steam on screen keyboard as expected.

I am hoping to fit it without having to reinstall. I am modernly competent with Linux but i don’t even know what to look for.

  • What is the stock tool called?
  • Where can I check the button mopping for the ally controller buttons. Maybe it somehow unmapped?
  • Please let me know if you suspect hardware failure. I am confident opening the case and I have a multi meter, just no soldering equipment
    Any pointers are highly appreciated!

The main tool is called HHD. Does the application open in Desktop Mode?

HHD starts normal if launch it from desktop. There was a warning about some DeckyTDP.

I confirmed replacing it. I tested in games and the TPD guts adjusted correctly by HHD but the back button still doesn’t do anything.

How can I restore the button mapping?

Hi all,

I experienced the same issue. Even though I got the the same warning of DeckyTDP and accepted it to use HHD.
It didn’t show up.

But if you go to your desktop mode, run Handheld daemon.
Goto: Settings, check ‘Add TDP to /sys for steam (Requires Restart)’ and restart your device. This solved it for me

Let me know if this fixed it for you!
