Ptyxis Questions

I know this is not the community that makes our default terminal but I do have a couple of questions about it and thought I would ask here since we all use it…

I’ve been looking through the options and haven’t seen anything but is there any way to give the Ptyxis some transparency?

My other question is about text size/zoom level. Ptyxis does not seem to remember my the zoom level I set - to me, the default is a bit too big. Of course, I can turn off the option that sets the terminal font to the system fault but… I like the font, it’s just too big! What’s the name of it, so maybe I can find it in the font options and adjust the font size?

Thanks!

Ptyxis does have a transparency option.

Depending on your version, it will be in the preferences or you can issue a ujust command.

So… I just discovered the ujust ptyxis-transparency command that just does the thing I want it to do!

I, uh… feel a little silly. But I’ll leave this topic and self-reply here in case other folks have the same question.

Hey, thanks!

The preferences panel on my terminal did not have the transparency option at first. But now that I have run ujust ptyxis-transparency, now the option appears and I can adjust it.

Don’t feel silly. Until I found the transparency controls I refused to use it in favour of Konsole myself. The menus for Ptyxis could use some work.

Ptyxis is still pretty young and is missing a lot of features (e.g. font ligatures)

We have to be patient. Or we could start making a new Ublue spin based on Bazzite with even more customizations, e.g. using WezTerm by default.

Where is the official forum for Ptyxis anyway?

Gitlab, there is no form, but you can open issue there if you need
