Hi,
Yesterday I got the update to Fedora 42 on bluefin. The Nix installation (and home manager) that I had on Fedora 41 is gone. Gone like in “the /nix folder is not there, neither the nix daemon”
Did this happen to others?

See:
I’m trying GitHub - DavHau/nix-portable: Nix - Static, Permissionless, Installation-free, Pre-configured
I swiftly hit error: setting up a private mount namespace: Operation not permitted
➜ nix run nixpkgs#hello
errorsetting up a private mount namespace: Operation not permitted
However, the NP_RUNTIME=bwrap or proot works fine:
➜ NP_RUNTIME=bwrap nix-portable nix run nixpkgs#hello

After considering what would require to keep my Nix configuration in all my devices, I moved to chezmoi. It is a different approach, since chezmoi is intended to keep track of your dotfiles, but you can also install software.
If you are really looking for reproducible environments, chemzoi is not a tool that will give you that. But I mentioned it in case you want to consider it.
Pd: Chezmoi is not a solution for this problem, it is a solution for “my problem” (syncing dotfiles and tools across devices)
