So I never used fedora of any kinda or oci as serious but I have built several other distros and what I find interesting is while doing my compile of pop shop (I merge systems or bedrock in general) seems like idk have to put it but pop is managing not only it’s appstream (that’s inside distrobox) but it’s also allowing management of the host and every other market or repo on the os. I wanted to bring this up be cause I have a very interesting and worth while idea of a dev sees this. I also wanted to mention I’m actually addressing a few things . So since I don’t really get fedora and this is more of an elaborate but impressive library I gave full access to several things typically not advised. I was trying to address/solve an issue I feel was an issue having to do with the net speed which typically on any apt system is just modifying 1 file in 1 directory and ignore resolve but I noticed that isn’t so easy in this case . I have a very well worked on configuration for dnsmasq that changes serveral things and more specifically setting a local DNS cache server which is very easy to provide (typically) like I said I don’t know fedora but I do not I can’t just disable resolve here and there’s several files I need to address which pretty much id have to break don’t the parameters I have and put them in according which Im too lazy to go further into that but why I bring it up is if there was a cache sever say like 2 gigs this would drastically decrease the connection getting hung as the tokens or handshakes n all that would have a physical local access where it won’t be needing as many transactions reaching out over bandwidth since it on local storage . Now steamvr . That’s a tough one for many distros and support varies even less but so far I can get it to work and view my storage library but when I launch game it never loads . Now I went thru the hell of messing with the firewall to ensure the ports needed are good but I can’t tell if this is more permissions related or possible missing daemon but for sure base line use it works and is clear just have infinate launch time . If possible we could speak more and possible finite methods or solutions to some things I see a solution for that’s also not complicated
