Hi! I found a way to live boot bazzite (boot bazzite for example from USB or PXE without actually installing it).
It uses the dracut-live modules to boot from an squashfs image build using podman export bazzite|sqfstar squashfs.img. Dracut live uses overlayfs and tmpfs.
Is anyone interested in this?
For the love of Torvalds, please do it. But do it so that it works on any Ublue distro. I want to live boot Aurora on my work laptop.
Did you ever follow up?
Atleast Aurora and Bluefin both have LiveCD images by default for like few weeks.
I tried to get it working, I got it to boot but I had trouble starting wayland/sddm (it only started after lots of restarts) and I sort of gave up.
I now see there are initiatives from others, I might someday try to build another live boot iso.
