Is Firefox a Flatpak on Bazzite?

Quick question that is obvious to anyone using Bazzite. Is Firefox installed as Flatpak or a system package?

I’ve seen this discussion on this forum about Firefox being a Flatpak, but I am not sure if that applies to all UBlue images or just specific ones.

Basically want to make sure I can get 1Password working smoothly with the browser.

Confirmed that Firefox is indeeded Flatpaked by looking at the repo.

Flatpaks (at least for KDE) are @ bazzite/installer/kde_flatpaks/flatpaks at 85a1e0d275f5699416a61ad483aba649333de16d · ublue-os/bazzite · GitHub

And you can see system package being removed in the containerfile.

I’ll try and figure if people had any luck providing the system package in this thread: Can't layer firefox - #7 by SuperFunHappySlide

I recommend just installing Firefox in a distrobox, along with 1Password in the same distrobox. Native Host Messaging works just fine for me, when I did that last time.

That is interesting! I did not expect that guis work with distrobox

Yeah one of the major benefits of Distrobox is indeed its desktop integration and ease of management for desktop programs. Even the lower-level functions are a bliss to navigate. Really slick stuff.
