I downloaded both Bluefin and Aurora, but neither of their installers will start. I select the option to start the installer on the boot screen, but it just shows a blank white screen after loading.
If it helps or is necessary, my laptop is a Dell Latitude 3400, i5 8265U.
Hi and welcome.
Can it be you are using secure boot, something you used before in another distro, or may be even Windows? try switching it off and see if it works.
Secure boot won’t have affect if you already can boot the USB and select the install option from the grub menu.
Secure Boot is disabled; it always has been. I don’t really bother with which distro can be installed with it enabled, so by default, I always turn it off.
Does Fedora Silverblue (GNOME) or Fedora Kinoite (KDE) even boot for you too?
You can rebase to Bluefin with Silverblue and Aurora from Kinoite. A Bazzite guide exists, but it’s kind of the same.
Thanks man, I had no idea of the possibility.
It is really frustrating, I can’t install either Kinoite or SilverBlue.
Then unfortunately do not have the hardware to run this project since they require Kinoite/Silverblue to run.
Actually, what I’m experiencing now is even stranger: I use my laptop with an external monitor because its own screen is damaged. While the GRUB menu and notebook boot appear normal and mirrored on the external display, when the installer starts, it becomes restricted solely to the laptop’s screen.
This occurs exclusively with Fedora installers - I’ve tested on Arch, Pop!_OS, Elementary, and various other distributions, and the issue is not present in their installation environments.
