How to install Forticlient on Bluefin?

Hey  !

Does anyone know of a way to get Forticlient running on Bluefin?

There’s a way using dnf, but unfortunately just a request to make it available at Flathub.

Installing it through a container, I think, is also not an option, because of other host-apps, which want to use the opened vpn connection.

Thanks

I was able to install the rpm using “rpm-ostree install”. But when I run FortiClient it is a blank white window. From what limited info I’ve found on this, the issue is from Nvidia drivers not playing nice with FortiClient. Going to try an AMD laptop soon to see if it works.

Edit: This is FortiClient VPN also not the ZTNA client.

Thanks for the info and for trying it. Maybe there is a possibility.

I tested an Intel laptop and it had the same behavior. Also tried an Arch container (distrobox) and it was the same. Definitely seems like something with Bluefin.

Definitely is something with Silverblue distros vs normal Fedora 40. I tested the stock Silverblue iso on the same laptop and got the blank white box window. But Fedora 40 works fine.

Put that fortinet.repo to your /etc/yum.repos.d, after that, rpm-ostree install forticlient

Yes this works but the app still doesn’t function correctly once installed and just shows blank white window.
