I tried searching, but didn’t find anything relevant to my question. Please pardon me as I’m new around here, and I’m trying to soak up as much information as I can before I do anything.
I’m interested in replacing my Windows 10 with Linux, and it seems Bazzite might offer me a viable route. I use SteamVR on this gaming PC. Does anyone here have experience using Bazzite on their Nvidia GPU and uses SteamVR? I have a Valve Index HMD with the 2.0 lighthouses. I want to be able to continue using VRChat and Beat Saber on this machine. If anyone has any experience with this, I’d love to read it, good/bad/whatever. Did you have any unusual challenges getting VR gaming to work? Or tracking?
Any info/advice would be really appreciated. Thank you.
I had some bumps in the road with my 4080 RTX. However I was eventually able to get it to working smoothly by doing a few things. My experience is mainly Valve Index so you should have much the same set up. For anyone using Quest I am unsure if this would apply.
Anything VR (IE VRChat, Half Life: Alyx, Beatsaber, etc.) should be on an Ext4 or btrfs. this will ensure Proton can access files correctly for the translation.
I adjusted my settings in steamvr.vrsettings file. This may look a little different on your specific system for the other settings listed in the section on your system. This made VRChat almost buttery smooth in 90hz on my valve index.
