I’ve been using Brexit for a few weeks, but I’m still pretty new to Linux, and especially Atomic Linux. I’ve tried to search, bit I can’t seem to figure this out.
Where do you update Lutris? 0.5.18 is out, but I can’t see where it’s installed from. ujust update didn’t find it, there doesn’t appear to be an apt, flatpack/discover don’t find anything, rpm either…
I’m flummoxed, and can’t see where the software is installed from to update. The docs don’t seem to have anything about the install location, and searching gave me a load of answers that don’t seem to help.
Is this something that’s installed in the Atomic packaging with the ostree stuff? And if so, how can I update it, as I can’t seem to find anything about that?
Lutris is inside image itself. Try rpm-ostree search lutris
Images are updated frequently (daily or weekly dependent on stream). Image can be updated manually ujust update and reboot. It it is not updated this way, then you can’t update it until developers make it available.
I ran into the same issue - Lutris client says “Lutris 0.5.17 is no longer supported. Download 0.5.18 here!” and games don’t start anymore. It’s great being in the image and all, but not so much if it doesn’t work and can’t be manually updated.
Random thing to try, if it’s games configured to run with Proton or GE-Proton:
Close Lutris, and then delete this folder ~/.local/share/umu. Then re-open Lutris and try to relaunch the game, it may take a little bit longer to launch.
There’s some issue where if Steam updates it’s Proton runtimes, Lutris will not catch that it’s updated for UMU. Clearing that folder forces it to properly update the next time you run a game.
