Future support to add the option to force full or limited color range?

I find myself in a predicament where bazzite or Wayland will not pick up that my tv supports full range color gamut and defaults to limited range.

I have tried everything to correct it to full range (0-255) including

*modifying monitor config files

*changing HDMI cables

*modding edid files with wxEDID (this didn’t work because bazzite is read only)

Bios menu, win 10 and ps5 has no problem using full range with same TV and cables. It would be great if in a future update bazzite could have a option in Settings/Displays to select limited or full range

Does this not work for you or am I misunderstanding the question?

this is what it looks like for me.

the menu you have looks great and has lots of options

how do i access that menu.

i see that is kde desktop settings

im using gnome

Oh, that explains it. I never used Gnome, so can’t help with that. Maybe try the “Adjust for TV” mode and see if that helps?

Sadly the adjust for TV mode only shrinks the image so the boarders compensate for over scan.

Hopefully the devs will add all those nice options the kde version has to the gnome version because with out them or the ability to overwrite the edid, config files I am left with just fresh install of kde or just dealing with the washed out colors which is hard to do with a oled.

i did try rebasing to kde but encoutered errors.

That is the gnome Devs that would do it. We don’t develop gnome or kde

Honestly, if you do not have many files and it won’t be much of a hassle, just reinstall from scratch with KDE Plasma. Honestly I had nothing but good experiences with KDE.
