Fan control is not working on Dell Latitude 5580

I’m just trying Bazzite on a Dell Latitude 5580. But somehow the Fan control is broken after installing Bazzite. It sticks on the speed Bazzite boots on. So one time its on 2400rpm, next boot on 2800rpm.

I run ZorinOS before installing Bazzite and on Zorin it worked.

I installed fan-control, that can read the fan speed, but cannot control it. What could i do.

Somehow it’s working now… Strange…

And now its not working any more again. CPU Temp is 38° and fan runs at 2900 RPM

Hi I am new to Bazzite as well. I looked for ways to install controlfans
I am not seeing any real and meaningful support on the topic of fan control so I will not be using Bazzite at this time! Hope you get a response other than this - GL :O)

UPDATE: Hi, I installed Linux Mint and within an hour have CoolerControl working and have full fan control :O) hope that helps!

HI again, I came across a command to install CoolerControl.

ujust install-coolercontrol

after install and reboot

run

sudo systemctl enable --now cololercontrold

&

sudo systemctl status coolercontrold

reboot
