Installed the MSI Claw Beta version on my Claw A8 and while sleeping the back of the device, where the APU sits is slightly warm as if it was still running and I am losing battery a lot quicker compared to my laptop with Bazzite or the Steam Deck.
This sounds like a firmware problem that is independent of the OS. Did you have a different experience with its stock windows install regarding sleeping?
Unfortunately I uninstalled Windows pretty quickly, so I cannot really say.
However I would like to think that one of the reviews for the A8 that are already out, would have mentioned any device related sleeping issues
If you check the MSI claw sub they all say to not use the sleep function and only use hibrenation if you have to. You have to understand that those functions need the firmware to work correctly. If MSI has not made a proper setup for the sleep call then your device will not truly move to sleep and will stay “on“ and get warm like you describe.
Regarding the reviews. I saw about 3 of them and none of them even talk about the sleep function at all. I would care about the reviews if they specically talk about how well the sleep function actually works or not.
Please also check if you are in the latest Bios and Firmware in case they fixed the problem there.
Have the same issue. I’m thinking about bios update, mb that will work. And same problem with skipping windows, so can’t really say - is this problem on the windows side or not
Please tell me, does your console wake up when you press the power button? Because mine only works after holding the button for 3 seconds and pressing other buttons.
Yeah, I also had those issues but a new Bazzite update was released which fixed all my issues.
One of the developers acknowledged that it was a bug on their side and they quickly found a fix.
You have to download the latest version from the Testing branch.
Good to hear!
@Felesich This is the easiest method to rebase to testing branch if you need to Bazzite Rollback Helper - Bazzite Documentation
Okay, thnk u! Today will test this method ![]()
Thank you! Hope this will work for me too)
