Bring back default Fedora avatars

Recently I rebased to Bazzite GNOME from F40. So far so good. But I’d like to be able to use default /usr/share/pixmaps/faces/.

I appreciate Half-Life themed funny pictures, but they could’ve been separate files (packaged as bazzite-avatars.rpm), not replacements in the gnome-control-center package. At least that’s what rpm says:

$> rpm -qf /usr/share/pixmaps/faces/tree.jpg
gnome-control-center-46.3-1.fc40.x86_64

I like how backgrounds are packaged in fNN-backgrounds packages (e.g. f40-backgrounds-extras-gnome.rpm). Would be nice to have something similar for faces / avatars, if that’s possible.

@nicknamenamenick @j0rge can you give any technical info on this?

What was the reason behind this packaging decision?

Thanks

Not sure, but we can probably have both sets in RPMs if someone sends a PR.

How is /system_files/overrides/usr/share/plasma/avatars being applied to GNOME builds?
