WiFi not working

I installed Bazzite on my Rog Ally yesterday, I’m trying to connect to my home WiFi, it sees the network, asks for the password, and when I carefully enter the correct password and verify, it says “Failed to Connect Re-enter password”

My home WiFi does work, and the wifi worked the other day but now is not.

Has anyone else run into this problem?

Oh boy I’m not sure!

It’s just the Rog Ally Z1E.

I did mess with it more and got connected eventually, and just kept hitting connect until it accepted it, probably 10 times and then it accepted my password.

Now I’m running into something where the controller will work for a little while in game and then it just won’t the next time I open a game.

Should 100% work, looking up the chip type is not necessary, its a Mediatek, they are all Mediatek, its an AMD platform, it will be specifically a MediaTek MT7922, my Legion GO has this same chip, and functions flawlessly in both the latest Stable and Testing release.

These are fully supported and have been for a while now, everything should funtion right out of the box.

Unfortunately we need to know the exact chip, since there are known issues with Mediatek.
Please see here:

Possible solution is to use the (lts) kernel 6.12.57 which comes with other distros or can be easily compiled.
Such distros are:
Debian and derivates ( MX Linux, Linux Mint, Zorin OS, Deepin, AV Linux )
Arch, CachyOS
OpenSuSE Tumbleweed

The solution to your issue is simple:
Please use another wifi dongle or ethernet.
Try another distro, that uses that mentioned lts kernel.

Lastly and I really hate to say it:
Try windows.

I know this is tough but, that is the way it is with linux.

Try Windows, I dislike that recommendation :slight_smile: lets avoid that at all costs.

Wifi dongles are not really a good solution for a handheld console, having things hanging off it seems a little annoying.

I also recommend for an obvious new comer to Linux, they avoid CachyOS, its a fast OS but its far from user friendly and will ultimately scare a new comer away from Linux.

Personally, I would recommend rolling back Bazzite, this is the bonus of running an an immutable OS, rolling back and rebasing is Bazzite’s super power..

Roll back versions until you find the issue has gone.
