Videos from iPhone(mov/mp4/qt) mishandled

I can’t get the thumbnails for a lot of iPhone videos, and this is reflected in Shotwell as well. This is a problem that seems to affect immutable distributions like yours, Silverblue Fedora, or EndlessOs. ,
Totem displays an error when opening (a recurring problem under all Linuxs in my home) and Clapper simply does not read anything.
I install Celluloid, which solves the problem of videos not opening, but not that of thumbnails.

I don’t know if it’s related to Apple’s exotic formats or to my poorly supported GPU (dual card Sea Island or South Island).
Apart from maybe a certain slowness at startup, that’s the only thing that really blocks me on Bluefin.
These cards are disasters under Linux: they work in slow motion under the Radeon driver and do not seem to work without bugs under AMDGPU which only supports it in an “experimental” way

You might be affected by a variant of this bug: libheif and heif-pixbuf-loader from negativo causes sddm/plasma/qt to crash on intel graphics (black screen) · Issue #695 · ublue-os/main · GitHub (linked to 2332519 – Update libheif)
Basically currently shipped iPhone format reading library libheif version is probably not ideal, maybe try the override workaround mentioned to see if it helps.
