Greetings, lately I’ve finally made the leap and I’m now running happily Bluefin-dx (gts).
As per the title, I do have a question regarding the audio thumbnails: the cover present in the metadata is not shown. Is there a way to show them in Nautilus instead of the default icon ? Other than installing with rpm-ostree totem.
Greetings, I’ve found one working solution that I would like to share with whomever will encounter the same problem in the future.
The solution involves using the preinstalled ffmpegthumbnailer since video thumbnailing works great (Although is a bummer not to have the saved cover image in the metadata to show up like with dolphin) , so a solution is to use ffmpegthumbnailer also for audio thumbnails. This solution has one downside tough, the audio thumbnails are treated as video one so they will show the same lateral bars as the video thumbnails.
In any case, it just suffice to copy the default thumbnailer desktop file to .local
And then add to the MymeType the desidered audio file mymetypes for mp3, m4a, flac and ogg so to have the resulting .local ffmpegthumbnailer.thumbnailer looks like this:
Then it suffices force quitting nautilus with nautilus -q and now the audio thumbnails should be visible.
As an alternative solution, now I’m trying to use totem-video-thumbnailer installed in a distrobox to generate only the audio cover, so far unfortunatelly I haven’t had any luck. If anyone would have some tips to share it would be really appreciated.
