Ublue Brew tap not trusted from install

Just a little one not sure if it’s done for 0 trust reasons but ublue-os/tap isn’t whitelisted by default. This means you have to manually do so which is prompted but might catch some users out.

If you’re trying to install something like VScode or Jetbrains via the Bazzite portal and your terminal is instantly closing this may be why

user@machine:/var/home/user$ brew trust ublue-os/tap
Trusted tap: ublue-os/tap
user@machine:/var/home/user$

This trust system was added with homebrew 6, which was only recently released. So existing Universal Blue installs don’t don’t have custom taps marked as trusted.

I imagine that Universal Blue will soon make an update to their installer (and perhaps existing installations?) to make them as trusted.

Aurora already has a system in place for this. It’s not prefect.

It would be pretty easy to implement to Portal.
