I am a bluefin user and would like to try out Aurora/KDE. Can I use bootc and that tooling to switch from bluefin to aurora?
Or would you recommend to reinstall the OS?

No support for rebase between desktop environments. So your option is reinstall with Aurora ISO

It may be stated as “no support”, however I have rebased back and forwards between Aurora and Bluefin several times on my daily driver with no issues.
You can do whatever you want, but they still share some configs, especially regarding gtk etc which will cause issues for some.
