Sunshine appears to be missing or misconfigured

I’ve been troubleshooting this all day and admittedly where I’ve ended up is likely my fault at this point but looking to resolve.

The short of it is I’ve been having trouble with sunshine starting. running ‘ujust setup-sunshine’ runs and the service starts and says that it ‘started the sunshine.service’ but the UI is not reachable and there is no shown running in my tray. I’ve tried restarting the service numerous times as well as my computer.

The logs are empty in ~/.config/sunshine.log

I’ve tried removing the ~/.config/sunshine files to let it rebuild with the same outcome.

I resorted to trying to install a flatpak which does work but has the issue of needing to run a setcap command that returns a read-only error.

so a fresh install at least gets me into the UI and shows that its functional but has its own problems. This leads me to believe that the original installation in the image is missing some files or configuration somewhere but i cant seem to figure out how to repair it.

Is there a way to trigger a repair or configuration inspection of sunshine or to completely wipe it and re-install it?
Any other thoughts to this issue?

any help is appreciated!
