Sound quality with Bose QC 45 Ultra headset and mic

Hello all,

I’ve being using Bazzite as my main rig for about 6 months now, and overall has been great.

I’m writing this because I own a Bose QC 45 ultra and have been wanting to make the internal mic to work while maintain the sound quality, but what I’ve been reading, the way to make this work is to use HSP/HFP with codec mSBC that allows two way stream, instead of High Fidelity Playback with A2DP with AAC codec, which don’t allow for the mic.

Although this works, the sound experience is so much worst compared with High Fidelity sink.
When searching about this topic, I encounter people mention this is a Bluetooth limitation, and for the mic to work it needs to share the sound bandwidth, which ultimately impacts the quality of both sound and mic, but this doesn’t make much sense to me because when I compare this with Windows, I get both good sound quality and mic working with good quality, so there is something else at works here. Is this some kind of filtering effect?

Regards that, does anyone has the same headset, and how did you work around this? Is there a way to use one codec for sound and other for mic, at the same time? (noob question here)

Thank you for your time.
Cheers
