Not sure about networks on the 5 GHz band, but I noticed on my GPD Win 4 (6800U version) that with Bazzite it wouldn’t show networks in the 6 GHz band, but another distro (an older version of HoloISO I used to use) and I think also Windows do show those networks.
It’s very unfortunate, 2 days after clean install and did some system updates i lost 5ghz wifi again. Something is wrong with bazzite for Legion Go. I also observed that since 5ghz are not scanned the internet for 2.4g is having spike issues
I wanted to change the thread title, as i made some further observation it was not the 5Ghz wifi were unavailable but instead i lost the entire WIFI 6 or WIFI 6e
I made numerous of self study to fix the issue but until now it’s still not working.
I even tried this method [USB adapter Mediatek](https://github.com/morrownr/USB-WiFi/blob/c1c3e762586f33c50a775d6949307e7c67ef45ce/home/How_to_Install_Firmware_for_Mediatek_based_USB_WiFi_adapters.md) and PCie mediatek drivers for MT9721 but since Bazzite is a read-only system it didn’t work.
So again, i reinstall the Bazzite OS, went to desktop mode and turn update to manual, and notification as “never”
on the first boot up i also run
sudo modprobe -r mt7921e
then
sudo modprobe mt7921e
Finally, i launched Discover, then went to the Setting and disabled all Firmware Linux repository.
It’s on second day now and i still have the access to all WIFI 6 networks.
The connection is strong and consistent.
I also avoid running
ujust update
Because i’m afraid that it will ruin my drivers for RZ616 Mediatek PCIe adapter.
Up until now there is no solid tutorial on how to tackle this issue.
