Rsync in 43.20260303 Seems Slower

I have no numbers to back this up. But, I just upgraded from 43.20260217 to 43.20260303. According to the changelog, rsync was updated from version 3.4.1-4 to version 3.4.1-5. It seems significantly slower to me. I’m just using it to back up my data to an external SSD. But, it feels like it takes about twice as long (which is still mere seconds, so I can’t complain).

Is anyone else seeing this? Also, I don’t understand those rsync version numbers. According to what I assume is the rsync github page:

The latest release is 3.4.1. No -4 or -5. Any idea what those sub-versions are?

I don’t think your perception of rsync being slower has anything to do with Universal Blue.

You can benchmark the performance of rsync with something like hyperfine. But still, you should take up the results with the rsync devs, not here.
