Problem with rewind in video playback

Hello, there.

I have an weird issue with video playback. And I’d love to solve it.

When I push left arrow or mouse click to rewind to any point of the video, the video screen goes completely still while the sound is playing.

To fix this I need to right arrow or mouse click to fast forward it. And funnily enough this consistently solves the issue. But it happens again whenever I rewind it anyways.

It happens with on YouTube or any kind of video streaming websites. But it doesn’t happen with mpv or haruna.

Can you share your experiences?

I have the same issue and thought it’s some weird problem only I have, really surprised to read that here. For me it doesn’t happen all the time and sometimes I have to reload the page to get rid of it. I’m using Librewolf (a Firefox fork), what Browser are you using?

I mainly use Firefox. I just tried Ungoogled Chromium and video rewinding works.

So it’s possible Firefox & Bazzite not playing well together…?
