Okular flatpak error

It happened that ouf of (seemingly) nothing Okular flatpak version cannot be started.

Trying on command line I get

qt.qpa.services: Failed to register with host portal QDBusError(“org.freedesktop.portal.Error.Failed”, “Could not register app ID: App info not found for ‘org.kde.kioclient’”)

Searching log I find

Dec 07 17:01:39 hogwart flatpak[1435810]: /app/bin/okular-bin: error while loading shared libraries: libPlasmaActivities.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Looking into flatpak history I find

Dec 7 14:47:32 pull org.kde.Platform.Locale 6.10 system flathub
Dec 7 14:47:32 deploy update org.kde.Platform.Locale 6.10 system flathub
Dec 7 14:47:41 pull org.kde.Platform 6.10 system flathub
Dec 7 14:47:45 deploy update org.kde.Platform 6.10 system flathub
Dec 7 14:47:47 pull org.kde.Platform.Locale 6.8 system flathub
Dec 7 14:47:49 deploy update org.kde.Platform.Locale 6.8 system flathub
Dec 7 14:47:55 pull org.kde.Platform 6.8 system flathub
Dec 7 14:47:59 deploy update org.kde.Platform 6.8 system flathub

So, it seems that an org.kde.Platform update killed Okular.

What is the best way to deal with it?

As workaround I can use firefox or any other browser to load a PDF but…

Ok I found flatpak update in another thread having the same problem which solved it.

yeah this is a new issue with the KDE runtime, it’s known.

It’s already solved, just update your system and it should pull in an updated version of okular and gwenview

Actually this is what I did.
