Hello, I unexpectedly encountered an AMD driver error, and gnome-shell crashed. I was downloading an ISO image for an AMD GPU.
On my second drive, I have Fedora Workstation installed, which I’ve been using for about two weeks, even playing games occasionally, without encountering such issues. Does the distribution apply any “special” optimizations to the kernel or GPU drivers?
I tried Fedora Silverblue and realized I was getting the same crashes. I updated the BIOS and lowered the RAM frequency from 6400 to 6200 for the Ryzen 7700 processor. Today, I’ve had no crashes, so it seems likely that the RAM affects the amdgpu. It’s a bit strange, but this solution worked for me.
