Switching from Windows I always use secondary monitor to show myself Discord or browser when I play games on my main monitor. Is it possible to replicate that behavior on Bazzite Linux?
Don’t know much about gamescope that runs the actual games, but seems like it basically ignores one of the monitors and switches it off at all times.
Also couldn’t find much info about this either, so I ask here.
It is possible, yes, I do it all the time in desktop mode. This isn’t possible if you’re in Steam Gaming Mode or Gamescope session. In other words, in Desktop Mode you can play games as-is or use Gamescope (not Gamescope session) to run games in one screen and run other desktop apps in the other.
If you don’t need the SteamOS-like experience and only want Desktop Mode, just use the normal Bazzite image. If you do want it you can get bazzite-deck, and when you need multimonitor stuff you can enter Desktop Mode.
