Initial installation on bare metal

Hiall!

I’m new to the universal blue universe, but I’ve gotten my own build processes on github running and I’m able to tweak my own build of bootc images.

This is a week of chores, got me a new lenovo laptop and installed a downloaded aurora iso. However, the process of downloading, creating the install medium, booting and then the initial anaconda installation, then switching to my own image.. It’s quite tedious.

What is the best practice for a virgin installation on bare metal (laptop)? Does it always start with a downloaded iso or can this somehow be done straight from my image from the location on github?

Thanks, cheers, Igor

How strange my journey is almost exactly the same as you…

I would just install from the USB and and re-base from your custom image. That’s what I do.

I even have a Lenovo laptop! There is a way to make an iso from an image so I suppose you could go that route and then do it that way, but it sounds like a lot more work than just re-basing.
