I installed Bazzite and I have no Audio

So I recently stopped using windows 11 and decided to give Bazzite a try. Everything works great and I love the OS very much but I have one problem.. I have no audio! normally when I install new Windows OS I will have to download “Realtek HD drivers” and “Realtek console” to then select my audio output that way… using the “Headphone” option to get audio for my system, but now using Bazzite I am stuck using Bluetooth speakers for audio and they aren’t the best they actually suck! So I did a little digging… and found out that Realtek drivers are in Kernel already but why I dont have the option to select them as output in sound settings the “Digital output (S-PDIF)” dont give me any sound. I tries using “Alsamixer” to Un-mute but to no avail. I tried checking of the HD audio controller is enabled in the bios and it is but still no audio.

I did the “aplay -l” in terminal

I had the same issue, in a way. “Configured Audio Devices” was not displaying my mobo driver, I also ran alsamixer, found the driver (it was marked as HD-Generic with Realtek and some letters+numbers after), did the unmute, still didn’t see it after reboot…

What I discovered was, it was seeing the mobo sound driver. It was just labelled wrong. In “Configure Audio Devices” from right clicking on the speaker in the tray, it’s listed as “Ryzen HD Controller Analog”. Switching to that, I get sound through my speakers, and it’s 100% actually my Realtek driver, because I am plugged into the jack for that… so, you can try seeing if there are other devices that aren’t what are the same name as your known driver, to see if it’s just mislabeled like it was in my case.

Also, next to the Playback Device in Configure Audio Devices, is Profiles. You can try selecting different options from that dropdown menu for the same device, to see if it just defaulted to the wrong one.

If that doesn’t help, then I am not sure.
